Im back...

Well, here goes my attempt to be a "better blogger."

This weekend has been really busy. Friday was my birthday! I had the day off from work. YEAH!!! I woke up and went to get my hair done. Then Amy and I took off to an outlet mall about 1 hr from our house. It ended up taking almost 1 1/2 hours to get there. There is one highway out of AZ to up north and that is where everyone heads for the holiday weekends. It was two lanes of traffic dead stop. We were taking frontage roads thinking we were so cool and then boom, the road ended. Needless to say, some how we found our way. We shopped for awhile, wasn't to impressed really. Definitely wont make that drive again. We were meeting friends up in Scottsdale for dinner at Maggianos. We left an hour and a half early for what should have been a 30 min drive. Thank god we did because we kept missing our exits and arrived 5 min before our reservation. Needless to say, it was a long day in the car. Dinner was awesome. We came home and had cake. Amy (my roommate) knows that I love store bought white cake so she ordered me a cake for my birthday. She told the lady I was 26 so whatever she thought. Below is a picture of it. I think she forgot the 20 part and went with 6 year old. Oh well, it tasted good.

Yesterday, our friend Heidi told us we had to be ready to go at 10am, she was taking us for a birthday surprise. (My roommates birthday was in June). She took us to a pottery place to decorate our own pottery. At first I was like, oh geez, this is not me, but it was really fun. I am not creative but was impressed with my piece when we were finished. I'm excited to see it after they blast it. We can pick them up Tuesday. Here is my picture before it "was cooked". I will post a picture this week of the final outcome.

Last night I wanted to go see fireworks. There is a huge show in Tempe, about 20 min from our house. They have a party with bands, etc. We thought we would just go to side road by the area and watch to avoid the 60,000 people they expect at their party. What a mess. We parked on the side of some road with at least 50 other cars. We were probably at least 3 miles from the actual event. I couldn't even concentrate on the fireworks because I kept thinking we were going to get plowed down with a crazy driver. Plus, we were sweating to death. It was probably 100 degrees still and we all forgot to bring anything to drink. We left before they were over trying to beat traffic and it still took us an 1 1/2 to get home. Hope everyone had a good 4th!

This morning we are off to look for houses. We are moving in August so looking for a new place to rent. Hopefully we will find something today. Then its a few hours by the pool. This afternoon we are going to go see the movie Hangover. Its suppose to be really funny!
